Generally,Myanmar has three seasons.The monsoon or rainy season is from May to October,the cool dry season from November to February,and the hot season from March to May.Forest temperatures vary from region to region. Weather is generally temperature and cool in the north and northern parts.During the rainy season,lower Myanmar and coastal areas enjoy heavy rain showers but it is dry and pleasant in central regions. Myanmar is a year round tourist destination.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND  


                                                                                                                                                 
      Early civilization in Myanmar dates to the 1st century with archaeological evidences of the Pyu Kingdoms of Thayekhittaya(Sri Ksetra),Beithano(Vishnu)and Hanlin. The first Myanmar Empire was founded in early 11th century by King Anawrahta who unifiled the country through his strong leadership and intellect. The Empire with its capital at Bagan lasted until the end of 13th century with theinvasion of he Mongols.This was more than 20years before the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. The Second Myanmar Empire with its capital Bago(PEGU) was fouded in mid-16th century by King Bayinnaung.The Third and the last Myanmar Empire was founded by King Alaungpaya in 1752. In the 19th century,during the peak period of colonialism,Myanmar was annexed in three stages by the British after three anglo-Myanmar Wars in 1825 and 1885.During the Second World War, Myanmar was occupied by the Japanese for nearly three years until the Allied Forces' reoccupation in 1945.Myanmar become a sovereign independent state on January 4,1948.

      Througtout her long history,it is considered that the people of Myanmar are of Mongoloid stock igrating from Kansu,aprovince in China.They are derived freom three main branches:the Tibeto-Burman,Mon-Khemer and Tai-Chinese.Now Myanmar's inhabitants are richly diverse.The majority are Burmars while there are many other indigenous races such as Shan,Kachin,Kayin(Karen),Chin,Mon and Rakine.All of them are called in one word as Myanmar.Besides,the immigrants of Chinese and India Stock had also been gently absorbed the colonial days.

     The Myanmar people have their own culture many centuries ago,and Buddhism has a great infulance on thedialy lives of Myanma peoples.
     The literature,drama,architecture,music,painting,flokdance,sculpture,handicraft,language,cuisine and martil arts of Myanmar are popular.The Myanmar people are quite different from that of others and they have distinctive characteristics.

      The Tropic of Cancer traverses the country just a hunderd miles(160 km ) north of Mandalay and there are three defined seasons namely Rainy Season(June to October)Cold Season(November to February)and Hotseason (March to May).In the rainy season the country comes under the infulance of the Southwest Monsoon wind blowing from the Bay of Bengal.The average temperature is 60 F in the cold season while in the hot season the temperature may shoot up to 100 F or more.March and April are the hottest,and driest months in Myanmar with central region's temperature sometimes reaching a stifling 45 C (113 F).Read More
